FrogFun Toy Library

When it comes to supporting families and bringing the joy of play back into everyday life, FrogFun Toy Library is making a big impact in a small (but growing) space. Founded by Robin Sund in September 2025, FrogFun Toy Library provides unlimited toy rotation services for families with young children, offering access to more than 300 high-quality, educational, and STEM-focused toys — without the cost or clutter of ownership.

Located at 8350 Hickman Road in Clive, FrogFun allows members to swap toys as often as they’d like during scheduled open hours. With both pickup and delivery options available, the service is designed to fit seamlessly into busy family schedules. Instead of constantly buying, storing, and eventually donating toys children outgrow, families can rotate through fresh, engaging options week after week.

FrogFun primarily serves education-conscious parents in the Des Moines metro with children ages 0–10. Many of their members are busy working parents, homeschooling families, or stay-at-home caregivers who value developmental play but struggle to keep up with changing interests and increasing screen time. Toy rotation provides a practical solution — keeping kids engaged while often saving families money compared to purchasing high-value toys outright.

What sets FrogFun apart is its unlimited swap model and local accessibility. Unlike subscription toy boxes that ship monthly, members can exchange toys one to two times per week during open hours, providing immediate gratification and consistent novelty that keeps children interested. Parents can see and touch toys before bringing them home, and the collection emphasizes open-ended play that sparks imagination and creativity. “Play is how young children learn, explore, and develop,” shared Robin Sund, Founder. “When parents tell me their kids ask to come to FrogFun instead of asking for screens, that’s exactly why we do this.”

Robin opened FrogFun after hearing about a toy library in another city and realizing Des Moines didn’t have one. As both a parent and a passionate advocate for play-based development, she saw families facing two major challenges: children glued to screens and homes overwhelmed with unused toys. Having personally experienced the benefits of toy rotation with her own twins, Robin recognized the opportunity to create a service that handled the sourcing, cleaning, and rotating for busy families. What started with 300 toys has steadily grown as more families discover how toy rotation transforms their daily routines.

For Robin, the most rewarding part of the business is watching children’s faces light up when they walk through the doors and seeing them completely absorbed in meaningful play. For members, the biggest benefit is relief — relief from clutter, relief from guilt about screen time, and relief from constantly trying to keep up with what to buy next. Unlimited swaps mean there is always something new and exciting, without the stress of researching, purchasing, storing, or discarding toys.

FrogFun Toy Library joined the Clive Chamber of Commerce in January 2026 to build relationships within the local business community and create mutually beneficial partnerships. As a new small business, FrogFun is eager to collaborate with family-focused organizations, pediatricians, preschools, and local employers who may be interested in offering memberships as employee benefits or partnering for family-friendly events. Being part of the Chamber helps increase visibility and strengthen connections throughout the community.

Beyond being a toy library, FrogFun aims to be a trusted resource for families navigating the early childhood years. With big ambitions and a heart for community impact, the team is passionate about protecting and prioritizing play in today’s screen-saturated world.
