The Holiday season was in full swing last Saturday, December 12 as the City of Clive and Clive Lions Club worked with over 30 local groups and businesses to raise funds to provide holiday baskets to needy families in Clive. Last Saturday, over 50 families including over 250 people that live within Clive were served with holiday baskets, including food for the whole family and gifts for the children.
The 30+ Clive organizations and businesses collected and raised funds for the items for this year’s baskets. Clive Mayor Scott Cirksena is proud of how the community stepped up to serve their neighbors in need, saying “The holiday basket program is an example of how the Clive community has a culture of giving during this joyous season. I am proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with these 30 organizations and businesses to provide these holiday baskets to needy Clive families.”
